Mr. Trainor,
My Name is Michael Brophy. My daughter is Caroline. (9th grade Honors 2013-14) I sat in on and appreciated your back-to-school-night presentation in Sept. Just found your blog. Thoroughly enjoyed your musings on Hayden’s “Those Winter Sundays” I can say the poem effected me greatly as well when I came across it in college, and I have carried it with me ever since. Just wanted you to know how much I enjoyed reading your stuff on fatherhood and parenting.
I’m a teacher at Springfield Delco, (history) and I’m also a long time friend of Keith Nunellee, a uniquely wonderful guy I’ve known since 1992.
I’ve just started following you on Twitter. Keep up the good the work, there are a lot of us thoughtful “unthanked” fathers out here.
Michael.

Michael, Wow! Thanks for the comments and the words of encouragement. I remember meeting you at Back to School night and it was a pleasure teaching Caroline–she is a thinker! Always had good insights and connections in class. Nunellee is a rare breed. Loved working with him at the high school and getting to know him–his gentle demeanor lets him het away with a lot:)
I hope you find time to relax and recharge this summer after what seems like the longest school year. Thanks for reading.
Take good care,
Michael
